The Climb....

So, I never really like the new teeny bopper artists that can sing, dance and act. Most of them are more silly than anything and cant be taken seriously as a music artist. But...then there is Miley Cyrus and her new song called "The Climb". I havent really heard much of her other music but this song is so great. It means something to me. I heard it not to long ago and it really hit home. I feel so many of the lyrics speak my life today. Its a very well written song and performed very well by Miley. Here is the Youtube link. Mommyzilla

If that can even be understood. Tonight I was a mean mommy. We have put our house on the market which means the house has to be clean constantly. Naturally with 2 girls running around this is an ALL DAY task. While I was running an errand Joe was watching the girls and allowed them to play with chalk outside. Any of you mothers KNOW where this is going. Later tonight I gave the girls a bath and walked into their room to put them in bed. Now, lets back track a minute. A week ago we put in brand new carpet up the stairs, in the game room and in the girls bedroom. By now I'm sure all of you mothers know EXACTLY where I'm going with this. Yep, Chalk was on the brand new carpet in their room. Now, one would think that chalk should "come right up with some carpet cleaner." Well, it would if it were white...but this is BRIGHT BLUE! It was on two different spots. I immediately went to get the carpet cleaner and begin cleaning it up. All the while I was telling the girls "I cant believe you did this!!! What is wrong with you guys??? Why cant you listen and not make a mess??" Now I know these are mean things to say to any child of their ages. But it was in the heat of the moment and I couldn't get past the idea of blue chalk being on the BRAND NEW carpet. Then as the mess was up and only the SLIGHTEST mark on the carpet (that can only be seen if you are searching incredibly hard for it) was showing...I looked at my girls faces. They looked as if all their toys had been thrown in the trash. It was such a sad moment. I told them "Girls, the carpet is okay. I'm sorry I said mean things and made you sad. I just need you to be more careful and keep all messes downstairs or outside." They cheered up at the idea of me not being mad anymore. Parenting is such a rough phase of life, but its one I cant live without. I know I will say mean things again in the future. I just hope its in the VERY FAR FUTURE. I don't want to see sad little faces again. But, I'm glad my girls know they are loved and that mistakes don't change how I feel about them. My prayer is that we sell this house fast before anything else happens!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Today so far has been wonderful. The kids got all dressed in the Easter Best. I took some really nice pictures of each of them separately and the of course all together. They turned out great. The morning was rainy so they hunted eggs in the house. It was cute watching them look high and low. Joseph was not really into the whole "hunt for eggs" scene so he just sat by and watched. He did however have a good time messing with his Easter basket. :) Later today we are headed to my parents house for a combination dinner. We are celebrating Easter of course, My birthday (April 9) and my older sister Heather's birthday which is today. It will be a fun little gathering. Being with family on such special days are always so neat. It's always full of good food, good conversation and lots of Love. Here's to wishing all of you a very Happy Easter! Pictures Below. :)

Possible BIG Changes

So, Joe and I are venturing out into the world of selling a house. We have been thinking and praying alot about it and the timing feels right. We have been in this house coming up on 3 years, which seems like such a short period of time. We love our home but feel its time to move on. We are fixing some minor repairs in the house and plan to put it on the market within the next few weeks. Where are we going to live if we sell it you ask? Well, we have our hearts set on building a home. We found this really nice builder about 20 minutes from here. Its out in the area we have been wanting to live in for quite some time now. Building will take time, but we think it will accommodate us more than an existing home will. First thought we have is Joseph. We have no idea what the future is going to bring with him. If Heavenly father decides he is meant to be completely dependent on us we need to be ready for it. Currently our home is a two story with 3 bedrooms, all upstairs. The house we are looking at building is a two story with 1 bedroom down and 4 bedrooms up. The downstairs would have a connecting bathroom. If this happens, the coming years it would serve as a guest room but at a later date possibly become Josephs room. I mentioned to Joe it would be impossible for me to carry a 14+ year old boy up stairs on my own so a downstairs bedroom is ideal for our situation. Each child would have their own room and still have a game room upstairs. We like the idea of being able to customize it to our advantage. Nothing is set in stone yet and we are waiting on getting started with anything until we can sell our house. My parents have been gracious enough to allow us to stay with them if the house sells while the new one is being built. It is an exciting adventure that we hope is a smooth one. We will keep you posted.

PS, Hailey had another soccer game this past weekend. The team she played was called the Pumas. They were super good!!! So good infact that Hailey's team only scored 1 goal. The boys were very aggressive on the other team and came to win! They still had a great time though. Here are some pictures from the game.
