Time for the Fling Family Update

I decided to log into my blog today just out of the blue. I can't believe its been so long since my last update. So many things are going on. I suppose the easiest thing to do is go down the line one by one. Here it goes...

Joe- He is still working so hard for our family as a Deputy for Comal County Sheriffs office. He just started coaching the 2011 Fall season of Hailey and Megan's soccer team. He also somehow managed to find time in our busy lives to paint the down stairs, rip up old carpet and lay laminate flooring. Our house is FINALLY starting to look like a home and most of the credit goes to Joe. He has always taken such pride in our home and I am very lucky to have a man who does.

Me- I am still working at the Bank as a Senior. Its coming up on 6 years now. My health has taken a turn for the better and I no longer have a thyroid issue although I am still be monitored here and there. Being the full time Mommy to 4 kids has been quite a task, but one that I love! Our family is so much fun. We are planning to talk our family to VA this December so everyone can meet Melanie. Including Joe's grandmother Fling. Once she meets her, she will have met all 6 of her great grand children.

Hailey- She just started 3rd grade and is off to a great start! Her teacher is Mr. Malone. She really seems to like him and has only been in trouble for talking 1 time since starting school in Aug. We are so proud of her. She has really started to take responsibility for her school work. She also was recently baptized!! Turning 8 was such a fun birthday for her. We had our family over and a few friends to celebrate with a Mario Bros theme. She was so gorgeous on the day of her baptism. She has changed and matured so much in the last year. She is such a great big sister. I say that all the time, but its true. We are so very blessed to have her fun personality around. She is starting soccer again and is doing really well. Her first game was this past weekend and she almost had a goal twice!

Megan- She started 1st grade and LOVES it. She is doing so well! Her teacher is Mrs. Tidwell. They adore each other! Megan has always been such a good student and tries so hard to do well. She gets 100's on almost every paper or assignment she turns in. She has really started to hit a growth spurt this year. She is catching up to Hailey quickly. Megan has really started to enjoy playing soccer this season. She understands the concept of the game a lot more now and we are sure she will get a goal this season! She ADORES her new baby sister. She makes sure Melanie has everything she needs. She loves to hold and play with her. She has learned by an awesome example how to be a terrific big sister!

Joseph- He started PPCD class this year and is doing AWESOME! He has hit 2 big milestones withing the first 2 weeks of being in school. His teacher Ms. Tuch (Too) does an amazing job with him. You can tell Joseph really enjoys going to class. I think his favorite part is riding the bus! He is such a big boy. Since being in school he has learned to finally FEED HIMSELF! It was something he started doing out of the blue at Hailey's birthday party. We are so proud of him. He will also hold his own cup and knows how to tilt his head backwards to drink. He still hasn't learned how to place the cup back down yet, but we are working on it. He just had his 12th surgery on  9/13/11. This was to correct his testicles that were no longer in his scrotum. It was out patient and although he is sore, he is recovering well. He is such a trooper!!

Melanie- She is 6 months old already!!! She is such a happy baby. And SOOOO GOOD! Joe and I say all the time how she is such a great baby. She has the best temperament and sparkling personality. She loves to laugh and loves to be played with. She is constantly entertained by her older siblings and loves to watch them. She is doing great on her tummy and already starting to pull her legs under to begin crawling. Its hard to believe she is half way into her first year. We just adore her and already cant imagine what life was like without her.

That's basically life in the house of the Flings for the moment. So far everyone is doing great and looking forward to the end of the year. Our favorite holidays are coming up!! Can't wait for good food, good company and making amazing memories!!
